7 harsh truths I want to pass on to the next generation of women

We all learn things along the way: let’s pass that on

We’re probably more similar than you think! It’s not scary to be approaching 30

1. That guy you’re obsessed with probably isn’t the love of your life

When I was a teenager, I was in love with the same boy for six long years. It was hell. It was absolute hell. He was all I wanted, and he didn’t want me. I was a bit creepy if I’m honest, but he was always polite and respectful. Eventually he got married to someone else and moved away. And you know what? I’ve fallen *just* as in love with two men since then, and I’m not even 30 yet. So don’t ruin your life (or end it) over a guy: you can absolutely fall in love again, and just as deeply. You won’t believe me now, but this is 100% a fact.

2. You’re going to have your heart broken, even if you’re sensible

Even if you absolutely choose a perfect guy on paper, even if he’s a doctor, even if he’s stable, even if he’s gentle, even if he doesn’t do drugs, even if he doesn’t cheat: it can end, and probably will. Unless you’re in an ultra-conservative community where you are expected to lie in the bed you made at 16 and stay wed for life, happy or suicidal, you’re almost definitely going to face losing a serious life…
