I’m wary (very!) of pathologising socially disordered behaviour and diagnosing people with conditions *solely* on the basis of unpleasant or anti-social behaviour. Ableism already means autistic people are labelled as cruel, uncharismatic or dangerously unfeeling when that couldn’t be more untrue in many cases. Is it true that some men with low EQ and empathy have autism? Yes. Is it also true that they overwhelming work extremely hard not to appear creepy or frightening, if not more so than neurotypical folk? Yes.
