Invading Greenland and Canada? You’re in terrible danger, Americans

No, you can’t invade a country that doesn’t want to join you

I didn’t have WW3 starting over Greenland in my notes. Taiwan, maybe. Poland, sure. But Greenland? A peaceful, largely barren wilderness home to a few small quiet communities? What on earth would Trump want to declare war and invade Greenland for? Was there a particularly aggressive reindeer incident involving one of his copious offspring? I’d barely made a mental note to write an article on how ridiculous that was, when Trump also announced his colonial ambitions to take over Canada and the Gulf of Mexico. If he was still a babbling loser has-been, I’d have shrugged it off with a smile. But this is the President. The President of the United States. Saying he wants to invade his allies and colonise multiple peaceful sovereign states for ‘security’ and ‘economic growth’.

Americans: are you embarrassed, or just as terrified as the rest of us?

No allied country in the whole world will accept you invading Canada, Greenland, or Mexico

Let’s backtrack so my lovely American audience realises how serious this is: if you invade Canada, Greenland, or Mexico in order to control the entire North American land mass: you are saying to the whole world the the USA will invade her peaceful allies and colonise them. That no one should trust you, that honour and alliance means nothing to…
