Oh women aren't blameless. Goodness knows I've known women who have had ridiculous requirements (500k salaries, owns a house at 25) and women who have been extremely bitter about men who haven't pursued them after a date or two. But in general (and I do only mean this as a rough metric) I'd say there are more totally isolated young men out there who are oblivious to why they're alone, than women.
