Predatory, But Not Criminal: the real reason sociopaths like young women

How old were you the last time you fell for ‘something stupid’?

The last time I fell for a older predatory man, I was 28. Yep; it was this year. Oops. The one thing you really realise as you grow up at warp speed in your twenties is just how vulnerable you are to the tactics manipulative and dangerous men use. I look back at some of the lines and traps I fell for when I was 22, or even 26, and completely cringe. Stuff that would be obvious to me now came and went with wide eyed innocence, horror, and long spells of deep sadness and self-loathing. Only now am I really grasping how to spot a serpent before it strikes. Unfortunately, there’s no written manual on the ways predators manipulate and seduce young women (yet), but let me tell you this, one aged bitter crone to her blossoming 20-something year old little sister:

He doesn’t like you because you’re ‘mature’, but because he’s convinced you’ll be easier to control and use without any consequences.

But Mr Wolf, I said I didn’t do casual sex, and you said this wasn’t casual!

1. He’s convinced himself he can have fun with you and ditch you without it having any consequences because ‘you are young and will find someone else anyway’
