Authors Note: If you are a man, but not a far below-average man who is humiliated by the idea of a random woman being better than you at something, or superior to you, I ask sweetly from behind my fan to not start bellowing and beating your chest in my comment section about how offended you are.

I don’t know a single woman who would be ashamed to find out that a random man they were at school with was now earning more than her. That would feel embarrassed to discover a man was being promoted faster than her. That would feel humiliated to have a male boss, defer to a male expert, or be seen by a male doctor, or taught be a male lecturer. Not because women believe all men are more competent than them, far from it, but because very few women believe that they have a natural superiority over all men, and that a man being smarter than them is a huge affront to their entire sense of self worth.
