Why are superhero movies so boring?

The similarity in the plots is so bad I can pretend to have seen all of them

Once upon a time, there was a (PERSON) who was misunderstood. This (PERSON) dreamed of (FINDING THEIR TRUE SELVES/ EXPLORING THE WORLD/ AVENGING LOVED ONE). Through a mysterious event, they find they are the chosen one. With a band of cool new friends, (PERSON) fights the bad guy. Then there’s a montage of fight scenes and saving the day. Then there’s the big battle. The villain goes ‘hahahaha capitalism/control/power hehe, I’ve won’ and then promptly loses. Tragically, (PERSON’s) sidekick/pet/dragon has been killed in the fight. Or they’re magically okay at a crescendo. And then this repeated itself for as many films as the studio can make a profit.

That’s literally all of them, isn’t it? I’m not at all invested in whether Ironman/Thor/Sonic The Hedgehog is going to make it out of the burning building because obviously, they are. Sequel 3 and 4 are already announced. So all there is to do is to sit back for two and a half hours watching people to do rolypolies around a cityscape avoiding a robot they will obviously defeat. It’s like rewatching a football match: you know who is going to win, you know who is going to do what, and you still have to sit there and wonder why everyone else is enthralled.
