Why how I look should be the last thing you’re looking for

My face will change. My soul won’t

If you follow my writing, you’ll know I write a lot about love, romance, dating, and break ups. And you’ll probably also know that there are always a bunch of men in the comments furiously telling me I must be ugly or obese if a man doesn’t want me. Don’t worry: not upset. I am however, concerned for them.

A gratuitous photo from today, so that’s out of the way. I digress. I’m attractive and I’m not delusional or immodest enough to claim otherwise for approval.

Here’s the thing lads: I can look amazing if I spend two hours at the hairdressers, have a really good diet that week, spend half an hour on my make up and work out a flattering outfit. All women can. But at some point, the make up comes off. I get a cold. I get a bad hair day. I can’t go to the gym because I have a major stress or drama in my life. I forget to shave my legs or paint my nails. Because I’m not a doll. I’m a human woman.

And I’m not going to look like the woman you’re scrutinising right now forever. I too, gentlemen, am not going to be 27…
