You have an average job- I presume- and that's fine, I just don't myself, and so I wouldn't typically don't date men like that. No need to get upset about it. Nothing 'pretentious' about me recognising you'd feel intimidated and upset by my 'special and fancy' interests and goals. You'd feel uncomfortable with me and I'd feel uncomfortable with you.
