Yeah I think the same about my mother! I was always clean, fed, housed, washed, and never wanted for anything, but it definitely wasn't a cuddly affectionate relationship. More like having a really amazing legal guardian. She just didn't 'do' expressive physical/emotional stuff as it just wasn't who she was. Loved her very much and still do.
