You’re totally allowed to bring up your kids in a way you think is right! I personally don’t agree with gentle parenting or think it would have worked for me. I think the naughty step definitely worked as a simple, easy deterrent to temper tantrums, screaming or violence in a way calmly cuddling me and telling me it was ok to emote wouldn’t have done. I had a strong rebellious streak and ADHD so discipline was necessary and good for me. But all kids are different and if you are a good parent, you’re a benefit to us all.
